Marrakech – Elements of the Marrakech judicial police, based on precise information provided by the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested on Friday an individual with a criminal record suspected of involvement in a case of possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The suspect (35 years old) was apprehended aboard a road freight transport truck, in coordination with the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie in the Tamansourt region, near Marrakech, indicates a security source, noting that the search carried out led to the discovery in his possession of 14,185 psychotropic tablets of the "Ecstasy" type.
The search conducted at his home in Marrakech resulted in the seizure of 6,000 additional psychotropic medical tablets, bringing the total seizures to 20,185 tablets, the same source specifies.
The accused has been subjected to judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecutor's Office in order to elucidate all the ins and outs of this case and to determine the possible ramifications of this criminal activity.
