Marrakech hosts the sixth stage of the Federal Cross Country

This sporting event, organised in coordination with the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz Athletics League, aimed to select the best female and male runners to participate in the Arab Championship competitions in Jordan, as well as to prepare the runners for the World Athletics Championships which will be held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, next September.

In the senior race (10 kilometres, men), runner Hafid Rizki from the Bejaad club managed to take first place, while first place in the senior women's category went to runner Sakina Athnan from the Ben Smim club.

In the junior category (6 km distance), first place went to runner Saida El Bouzi from the Wifaq Fassi club, while Mohamed Zaouia (Wifaq Sportif Fassi club) took first place in the junior men's category (8 km distance).

At the general team ranking level, the Royal Armed Forces Athletics Club took first place in the senior men's race category, and the FUS Athletics Club in the senior women's race category. In the junior women's category, first place went to the Sarii Oued Zem Athletics Association, and the Achbal Tamda Azilal Athletics Association in the junior men's category.

Among the girls, the Ittihad Sportif Tahla Athletics Club took first place, and the Qasri Athletics Club among the boys. As for the young ones, the Ittihad Sportif Marrakchi Athletics Club came first in the girls' category, and the Wifaq Sportif Fassi club in the boys' category.

On this occasion, the official spokesperson for the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation, Mohamed Nouri, confirmed that this sporting event was "successful by all standards" and witnessed strong competition between the participating clubs, noting in this context the conditions prepared by the relevant authorities, including organisers and local authorities, so that the race could take place in an atmosphere of fair competition.

For their part, both runner Hafid Rizki and runner Saida El Bouzi expressed their happiness at taking first place in this race, which came as a result of hard training throughout the year, confirming that this result will push them to exert more effort to achieve the best, especially with the approach of major future sporting events.

The organisation of this sporting event falls within the framework of implementing the programme of the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation aimed at scouting for rising talents that form a nursery for discovering and emerging sporting champions who strengthen national sport, as this year's edition saw the participation of the best qualified runners belonging to clubs and sporting associations (134 clubs and associations).

The Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation organised, yesterday Sunday in Marrakech, the sixth stage of the Federal Cross Country, with the participation of more than 1,500 female and male runners (young/boys/juniors/seniors, men and women) belonging to clubs affiliated with the Federation.
