According to data provided by the Regional Directorate of Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy of Marrakech-Safi, exports of handicraft products reached 458.5 million dirhams in 2024, recording a growth of 41% compared to 2023, when they amounted to 325.14 million dirhams.
This progress is attributed to the increase in demand for handicraft products exported to the United States, with a rise of over 80%, as well as the increase in exports to Arab countries and Spain, which grew by 61%.
The United States is the primary destination for handicraft products, with a value of 187 million dirhams, or approximately 20% of total exports. France occupies second place with 9%, followed by Arab countries, which represent 3% of exports.
Regarding product types, carpets, pottery, and copper and wood objects were among the most exported products in 2024, representing over 60% of Marrakech's exports.
