Marrakech strengthens its air connections

The Marrakech destination is strengthening its air connection with the main source markets. On 3 September, the company Alitalia inaugurated a direct line from Rome with 2 rotations per week, as already announced in our columns. Other launches will follow between this year and 2015 by the companies Lufthansa from Frankfurt, Air Berlin (Düsseldorf), Nikki Air (Vienna), and Germania (Hamburg). These 4 new lines will serve the Ochre City with 2 flights per week, according to the Marrakech Regional Tourism Council (CRT). It should be remembered that Marrakech-Menara airport records an average of 600 aircraft movements per week, or 2,400 per year. In terms of passengers, Marrakech airport recorded the arrival of 2.5 million passengers in the first 8 months of 2014, an increase of 17% compared to the same period in 2013, the CRT recalls.
