Twinning between the hospitals of Marrakech and Genoa

Twinning between the hospitals of Marrakech and Genoa

The two health establishments of Marrakech and Genoa have signed an agreement to strengthen the skills of professionals in the fields of haemato-oncology and bone marrow transplantation. The objective of this twinning is also to create cooperation relations covering advanced training courses and the transfer of expertise in terms of organisation and operation of clinical haemato-oncology and bone marrow transplantation services, especially since the "Gaslini" Institute of Genoa is one of the major European hospitals renowned for its cutting-edge expertise in the field. The said convention is of great importance for the Mohammed VI University Hospital which will allow this care technique to be made accessible to Moroccan citizens and more especially to those who do not have the financial means to carry out this type of transplant abroad, declared on this occasion the director of the Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech, Prof. M'Hamed Harif. This same ceremony was used by the Mohammed VI University Hospital to initial a Cooperation Convention with the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the ochre city as part of the innovative project entitled "Culture and Health Project". The Faculty of Letters thus commits to supporting and animating a number of literary and artistic activities, including poetry recitals, reading sessions, film screenings and the presentation on stage of plays, for the benefit of patients and staff of the University Hospital.

The Mohammed VI University Hospital of Marrakech is linked today by numerous cooperation and twinning agreements with health establishments both in Europe and in the United States, including the Parisian hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière, the Rouffach Hospital Centre and the Créteil Intercommunal Hospital Centre.
