This exhibition, whose inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Handicrafts, Abdessamad Qaiouh, is part of the "Promotion of individual artisans and craft SMEs" project, which is itself part of the "Handicrafts and Medina of Fès" project, a programme that falls under the MCA-Morocco (Millennium Challenge Account). This event, which aims to become an essential and lasting showcase for the influence of Moroccan craftsmanship on a national and international scale, aims to increase the capacity of individual artisans, cooperatives, and craft SMEs and to highlight their ancestral know-how. About 8,000 visitors are expected for this event, which will also allow artisans to establish commercial relations with a hundred professionals in the sector. Expo Artisan mainly targeted craft products from the decoration, ceramics, leather goods, mosaic, clothing and textile, jewellery and accessories, lighting, cut stone, local products, and wrought iron sectors. In a statement to the press, Qaiouh indicated that this exhibition is part of his department's general policy for the development and marketing of artisans' products, particularly those who have benefited from support in terms of certification and strengthening their skills. On the programme of Expo Artisan are the organisation of workshops and round tables dedicated to issues related to handicrafts, led by national and international specialists, in addition to traditional fashion shows. The themes of the seminars organised as part of this exhibition relate in particular to "Marketing and promotion of handicrafts: challenges and opportunities", "The quality label and intellectual property in handicrafts", "Development and trends in handicrafts", "Export of handicrafts: challenges, stakes, and opportunities", "Vocational training and handicrafts", and "Handicrafts and fair trade". Expo Artisan is organised by the Ministry of Handicrafts, the Agency for Partnership for Progress (APP), and the MCC (Millennium Challenge Corporation). Also taking part in the inauguration ceremony of this event were the Wali of the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region, Mohamed Faouzi, the president of the Municipal Council, Fatima-Zahra Mansouri, in addition to other personalities.

Inauguration of the 1st edition of Expo Artisan in Marrakech
Expo Artisan, a true celebration of Moroccan craftsmanship, was inaugurated on Wednesday at Bab Jdid in Marrakech, with the participation of 300 individual artisans, cooperatives, and craft SMEs from Fès and Marrakech.
