A brawl opposed students originating from the southern provinces to other students affiliated with the so-called Kaidi current at the Marrakech university city on the night of the 25th to the 26th of the current month, it was learned Thursday from local authorities.

This brawl originated from a conflict that had opposed the day before two students occupying the same room at the said city, explains the same source, adding that in reaction to the support shown by certain students towards one of the protagonists, a group of students proceeded to throw stones "at other students" in front of the entrance to the university city.

The intervention of law enforcement allowed the situation to be restored on Wednesday at dawn, it is indicated from the same source. During the evening of the same day, students gathered at the entrance to the university city armed with bladed weapons, blocking the gate and proceeding to throw stones and Molotov cocktails, which resulted in injuries among law enforcement.

In order to ensure the safety of residents and the premises, law enforcement intervened to clear the entrance to the university city and clear the public road. They also seized several dangerous objects such as Molotov cocktails, gas canisters, bladed weapons, and petrol cans, it is stressed from the same source.
