A new public landfill for 30 million DH

The city of Laâyoune has just acquired a new public landfill for a cost estimated at more than 30 million DH, which will allow for modern, rational, and sustainable management of this vital sector at the city level. This new landfill, located 5 km south-west of the city, extends over more than 7.5 hectares and is expected to treat more than 150 tonnes of household and similar waste per day in Laâyoune, which has a population of approximately 200,000 inhabitants, and provides for the treatment of more than 725 thousand tonnes over 10 years.
