Nine Basque parliamentarians in Laâyoune

Nine Basque parliamentarians in Laâyoune

Nine Basque parliamentarians who came to Laâyoune to meet with associative actors belonging to what are called the internal separatists, were pleasantly surprised by the welcome reserved for them by a delegation including the pacha, the mayor and several elected officials, chioukhs and notables of the city. The local officials explained to them that not all Sahrawis are affiliated with the theses of the separatists and their Algerian henchmen as some would like to make people believe, and that anyone who wants to have a well-founded and real opinion on the situation must question their true representatives, namely the elected officials but also the chioukhs. They also explained to them that the representatives of the authorities were better placed to inform them than those they wanted to meet. The Basque elected officials then indicated that they would act accordingly and that they would visit the members of the municipal council and the wilaya.
