Taxi drivers' strike

The local section of the Laâyoune Taxi Drivers' Union has decided to suspend the activities of its members during the day of November 30, as a protest against the problems they have been experiencing for some time.According to the organizers, some 50 taxi drivers participated in this movement which took place along Avenue Smara and which the organizers justify by the authorities' refusal to follow up on their demands, particularly those relating to professional permits in addition to the introduction of a specification for the regulation of the sector which is experiencing clear negligence on the part of the authorities concerned. They also demand guarantees to ensure their future.
