The beautiful season does not only herald pleasant things. Indeed, the arrival of summer in the city of Khénifra is also synonymous with a mosquito invasion. These insects, born in the hollows of the Oum Rabiâ wadi, are unpleasant and disturb, day and night, an already weary population struggling to endure a suffocating summer heat. Indeed, in the red city of the Zayan, fears are more visible within households, which must take all precautions and pay attention to their offspring so that they are spared the bites of these insects. It is a real malaise that prevails among the population and more particularly among the elderly. The reason is to be found with the municipal hygiene office which, despite the efforts it undertakes, does not have the necessary material and human resources to eradicate this scourge at the source, at the level of the banks of the Oum Rabia wadi where thousands of insects are born that end up invading the whole city.
Yet, the inhabitants of Khénifra dream of a clean city with more green spaces, well-laid-out boulevards and alleys, a green environment… It is thus the duty of the local authorities and city councillors to redouble their efforts in order to preserve the health of the populations, by fighting against these harmful insects, transmitters of microbes through food products exposed on the stalls of public squares. It is more than ever time to fly to the rescue of the Khénifris and respond to their cry of distress, in order to spare them, as well as visitors passing through the city, the outrages of the summer mosquito invasion.
