A youth training session launched in Khémisset

The session initiated by the FDBDHD which was launched in Khémisset, aims to strengthen the capacities of young people related to international mechanisms for the protection of human rights.

The 5th youth training session on human rights protection mechanisms, initiated by the Driss Benzekri Foundation for Human Rights and Democracy (FDBDHD), was launched on Monday at the Dar Eddaya de Dayet complex in Khémisset, with the participation of young people from different regions of the Kingdom, Algeria and Tunisia.

This session is part of the Foundation's training programme to strengthen the capacities of young people related to international human rights protection mechanisms and to ensure the continuation of the youth capacity building programme with a view to creating a new generation of human rights defenders by contributing through the strengthening of their capacities in the field of human rights, indicates a press release from the Foundation.

The Foundation is also organising the regional session for the training of young Maghrebis who are involved in associative action and who are interested in the issue of human rights, under the theme "Mechanisms for the protection of human rights", on 8 and 9 September, adds the same source.

The Foundation will organise on the 10th and 11th of the current month a national training session on "national mechanisms for the prevention of torture" for the benefit of young journalists, associative actors and Moroccan politicians.

The programme for strengthening the capacities of young people on international human rights protection mechanisms was launched in 2011 for the benefit of approximately 100 young Maghrebian actors and focuses on intensive training sessions in Geneva on strengthening the capacities of young people in the MENA region.
