The province hosted the Regional Craft Fair, organised by the Chamber of Crafts and the House of the Artisan under the aegis of the Ministry of Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.
The Regional Craft Fair closed last week in Khémisset. The event, which took place at the Place Al Massira, saw the participation of 70 artisans. This event, which lasted for a week, allowed the public to discover the multiple aesthetic facets of the artisanal product of the region. The stands notably exhibited products of traditional weaving, embroidery, ceramics, wood, etc. According to Abdessalam Lamghari, president of the Chamber of Crafts of Khémisset, the organisation of this fair was an opportunity for artisans, operators of the craft complex and professionals to discuss the problems of this sector which remains a repository of the authenticity of the Moroccan artisan's know-how. "This event allowed the artisans of the region to exchange their experiences with their colleagues who came from other cities of the Kingdom. Craftsmanship constitutes a universe with multiple facets combining innovation and tradition, hence the interest in preserving it through vocational training and apprenticeship," he stressed. In this sense, the event was marked by the organisation of several conferences and round tables. Other information meetings were led on the sidelines of this fair by the exhibitors, with the aim of learning about the achievements in the craft sector. The products exhibited represented a varied sample of the region's craftsmanship, an expression of a Zemmour culture rooted through time and in permanent relation with Moroccan tradition.
