The Chaabi university residence blows out its 10th candle

The ceremony was characterised by the awarding of prizes for the best sporting, cultural, and social performances of the year.

The Miloud Chaabi Foundation for social works and solidarity celebrated the tenth anniversary of the creation of its university residence in Kenitra. The ceremony was closed in apotheosis by a concert of the rap group "Ach Kayne" which thrilled the audience with beautiful songs from its latest album.

In addition to the artistic dimension, the Chaabi University Residence of Kenitra organises, every year, sporting, cultural, and social activities for its residents, through tournaments of minifoot, basketball, table tennis, badminton, and chess. The creators also have all the leisure to choose between painting, music, or a competition aimed at unearthing the talents of the city bearing the name of "M-City Got Talent". The university residence also organises charitable actions for the benefit of children in difficult situations of Dar Lakbira and needy patients of the Idrissi Regional Hospital.

It should be remembered that in a city where the number of students reached nearly 42,000 this year, the Miloud Chaabi Foundation has, in a citizen spirit, contributed to alleviating the pressure exerted on the only public university city of Kenitra. Covering an area of 5 hectares, this university residence currently houses 1,500 students, including 80% girls. The complex is equipped with all the infrastructure necessary for personal and academic development. Thus, in addition to the rooms of 15 m² each, the residence includes, among others, 10 work rooms, 3 chess rooms, 4 TV rooms, 4 table tennis rooms, a WiFi space in each building, and an important sports complex, including football, basketball, volleyball, and minifoot pitches.

The establishment also offers amenities that meet the needs of its residents, such as a medical service, or even a social complex equipped with a place of prayer, a snack-café, and a mini-market.

This tenth anniversary was the occasion to announce the upcoming launch of extension works. Thus, 6 new buildings will be added to the 14 current ones, all built in R+3 with a new design. Each building will include 68 rooms. The project also includes a library, a covered sports hall, and an administrative building.
