Last Thursday, a judge serving at the court of first instance in Inzegane was assaulted by a lawyer from the Agadir bar, according to a statement from the regional office of the Club of Moroccan Magistrates in Agadir. The lawyer, who revolted against a judgment rendered by this magistrate, Mr. Abderrahmane El Assili, in a case relating to unfair dismissal, approached the magistrate and insulted and struck him in front of several magistrates and even the president of the court, the same statement added. To express their support for their colleague, the magistrates, members of the regional office of the Club of Moroccan Magistrates in Agadir, paid a visit last Friday to the court of first instance in Inzegane.

Furthermore, members of the Club of Moroccan Magistrates will hold a sit-in on Friday, May 17th, at the Kenitra Court of Appeal in protest against acts of violence committed against magistrates across the Kingdom.
