Immouzer Kandar offers few employment opportunities to its young people, like many mountain towns that remain under-equipped and underdeveloped. Whether graduates or not, they are often prey to poverty, socio-economic marginalisation, and unemployment. Based on this observation, the "Greenside Development Foundation" association was created in 2012 in Immouzer Kandar to help disadvantaged young people and the unemployed. It launched the youth aid and support programme to create and develop their own businesses ("Creating Jobs For and by Youth"). Sponsored by the United States Embassy in Morocco, with the support, among others, of Anapec, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Enactus club of the Hassania School of Public Works, this programme targets unemployed young people aged 18 to 35 who have business creation projects, with a view to ensuring their economic inclusion. "We have the ambition, through this initiative, to help young people who belong to the most disadvantaged layers to change their lives by allowing them to have a stable and sustainable source of income, through the creation of income-generating activities and micro-enterprises," specifies Ali Aaouini, president of the "Greenside Development Foundation" association. The names of the 35 candidates selected to benefit from this programme will be announced on 26 April in Imouzzer Kandar, during a ceremony organised by the Greenside Development Foundation association. The young people rewarded on this occasion are those who presented attractive business plans to the "Creating Jobs For and by Youth" jury, presenting viable projects with solid activity and potential clients. They will be chosen from the 250 young people pre-selected during the 1st phase of the programme to follow training intended to help them realise their business plans. "These young people benefited from a complete support programme for the realisation of their business plans. It includes training modules in business plan development techniques and entrepreneurial management, and workshops for reflection and collaborative exchanges. This training programme is innovative in that project leaders confront their experiences, ideas, and visions in a climate of exchange and sharing," explains Ali Aaouini. The 35 winners of the "Creating Jobs For and by Youth" programme will obtain grants ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 DH in the form of equipment and materials for the launch of their activities. Furthermore, and to help them fly on their own and ensure the sustainability of their businesses, the Greenside Development Foundation association will provide the beneficiaries with follow-up for their projects. Consultants in entrepreneurial management will thus be made available to the beneficiaries, providing them with coaching and personalised follow-up according to their needs and the size of their businesses. In this context, in addition to a programme to strengthen managerial potential and organisational capacities, young project leaders will be able to follow training modules in essential notions of entrepreneurship, such as accounting, marketing techniques, promotion, and marketing... Integration of young people into the job market. The ceremony organised on 26 April by the "Greenside Development Foundation" association to announce the names of the candidates selected to benefit from the "Creating Jobs For and by Youth" programme will see the participation of several national and international personalities such as Abdeslam Seddiki, Minister of Employment and Social Affairs, Hafid Kamal, Director General of Anapec, and Ellen Paquette, Director of the Peace Corps volunteer programme in Morocco. This meeting, which also provides for a conference-debate on youth self-employment and a screening of a documentary film, aims to raise awareness among public authorities about youth issues in terms of training, insertion, and integration into the job market and to solicit the commitment of the State in terms of support and backing for the development of training. The "Greenside Development Foundation" association will also take the opportunity to sign partnership agreements aimed at promoting youth employment and encouraging their skills.
