As part of the New Development Model for the Southern Provinces, the resettlement and rehousing programme for the inhabitants of the "Rbieb" and "El Gouiez" shanty towns is the subject of a multi-party partnership agreement between the General Directorate of Territorial Collectivities, the Ministry of National Territory Planning, Urbanism, Housing and City Policy, the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces, and the Provincial Council of Es-Semara.
