The Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG) is organising the 2nd edition of the Arab Professional Golf Championship, from January 9 to 12 on the Mazagan golf course in El Jadida.
This edition, organised in collaboration with the Arab Golf Federation (AGF), will feature the participation of 16 professional players from several Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, and Egypt, in addition to Morocco, represented by professional players such as Ahmed Marjane, Ayoub Lguirati, Othmane Raouzi, and Soufiane Dahmane, the federation announced on Monday in a statement.
In parallel with the professional competitions, a competition dedicated to amateurs is scheduled for January 11 and 12, on the same course, an opportunity for young players to distinguish themselves, according to the same source, which specifies that this championship aims to strengthen the spirit of sports competition among Arab countries and to highlight the talents of golf professionals and amateurs.
Created in 2023 on the initiative of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, this championship is an essential event for the development and recognition of Arab golf talents.
The first edition brought together more than 100 participants from 11 Arab countries, a success that confirmed the importance of this event for the professional golf community in the region, notes the FRMG.
During this inaugural edition, Ayoub Lguirati, Morocco's No. 1, distinguished himself by becoming the first Arab professional champion.
