The 2nd stage of the Mena Tour golf tournament took place from 28 to 30 March with the El Jadida Open. While the tournament was won by the Englishman Andrew Marshall, the Moroccan golfers honoured their participation, notably with an excellent 5th place secured by Fayçal Serghini.
The new season of the Mena Tour golf tournament continued with the El Jadida Open, held from 28 to 30 March. This second stage, after the one held at the Royal Golf of Mohammedia, saw the participation of 110 players, both Moroccan and international. It was, in fact, the Englishman Andrew Marshall who distinguished himself by winning the tournament, after returning a total card of 211 strokes, 5 strokes under par. Marshall pipped the Austrian Florian Praegant at the post, who was the leader on the evening of the second round, but finally had to yield to the experience of Marshall, a former star of the European Tour. On the Moroccan side, the satisfaction was great given the results recorded.
Fayçal Serghini thus finished in 5th place with a total card of 218 strokes, two strokes over par and ahead of his compatriots Younès El Hassani, who showed a slight delay compared to his thunderous start since the beginning of the year. El Hassani shares 11th place with Mustapha El Maouas, who made an impression by achieving the best score of the week, with an excellent card of 67 strokes at the end of the third and final round, to finish on a high note. Ahmed Marjane, with a score of 221 strokes, managed to climb into the top 20, ranking 19th, in a very tight competition, where only the first two managed a score under par. Beyond the individual results, it should be noted that 14 Moroccan golfers, including 6 amateurs, managed to pass the cut. Further proof of the development of competitive golf practice in Morocco and in the Mena region in general.
