The 3rd edition of the Sea Forum, an international benchmark meeting for the sustainable development of the sea and coastal zones, will take place from 6 to 10 May in El Jadida, organisers highlighted on Tuesday in Casablanca.

This meeting aims to highlight Morocco, a country endowed with 3,500 km of coastline on two fronts, the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, they noted during a press conference to present the programme for this event.

This meeting is also intended to be a space for reflection and exchange on issues concerning the sea and coastal zones, stressed Mehdi Alaoui Mdaghri, associate director of the company "Eganeo", the organiser of this event, noting that the programme includes, among other things, 2 plenary sessions, 5 thematic workshops and 2 conferences that will enrich the reflection of the 2,500 expected participants.

He added that some 80 to 100 recognised speakers, experts, institutional representatives, and Moroccan and international economic and social actors will gather around essential themes for the sustainable development of the sea and coastal zones.

This Forum, he said, will welcome more than 3,000 children for introductions to water and beach sports, awareness-raising activities on sustainable development, beach cleaning operations, film screenings, artistic workshops, and activities for discovering the marine environment.
