Despite a slight drop in the unemployment rate, the Souss-Massa region still records an activity rate lower than the national average. It should be noted that the HCP figures, relating to the year 2024, do not allow for an analysis of the upward trend in underemployment at the regional level in 2022 and 2023. But the Economic Actors Forum highlighted economic growth insufficient to absorb the arrival of young people on the market as well as a lack of convergence of the policies and programs implemented.
Like other territories, the economic development of the Agadir Souss-Massa region is intimately linked to the resolution of the unemployment problem, in relation to the improvement of activity and employment rate indicators.
