Ten months in prison for two car thieves

Ten months of firm imprisonment accompanied by a fine of five hundred dirhams was the verdict recently rendered by the correctional chamber at the Agadir Court of First Instance for simple theft and drunkenness. The case began with the disappearance of a car that was parked right next to a hypermarket in the city. Its owner, who had parked it, did not find it when he left the hypermarket. He quickly alerted the police, who issued a telegram reporting the disappearance of a car, specifying its make, registration number, chassis number, etc. A few hours later, the car was spotted in Tan-Tan by the city's police. Surrounded, two young men who were on board abandoned it and took to their heels. However, two hours later, they were arrested and transferred to Agadir to be subjected to interrogation. They confessed to being the car thieves and that it was their first operation. They added that they had opened the car with fake keys. They were brought before the court, which found them guilty of car theft and drunkenness.
