4th Circus and Street Arts Meetings

4th Circus and Street Arts Meetings

Within the framework of the France-Morocco cultural season initiated by the French Institute of Morocco, the French Institute of Agadir is currently organising the ''4th Circus and Street Arts Meetings of Agadir'' until 18 July.

These 4th Meetings constitute one of the major artistic and cultural events of the Souss-Massa-Draa region.

Organised by the French Institute of Agadir, in collaboration with the Urban Commune of Agadir, this 4th edition is a great success, proof of which is the turnout for the show ''Taoub'' given at the Verdure Theatre from 5 to 9 July by the Tangier Acrobats troupe, whose performances were followed with keen interest by thousands of Agadir spectators and numerous holidaymakers.

This high-quality show therefore set the tone for these 4th Circus and Street Arts Meetings of Agadir, which now constitute an unmissable event of the Agadir cultural season, combining both original shows and constructive workshops.

At Al Amal square, where the tent of the Imaginary Travel Agency is set up for a creative residency, the general public can communicate at will with the artists during this first fortnight of July and explore the behind-the-scenes of ''The Cid's Caravan''.

The Imaginary Travel Agency also gave two performances of its show ''The Love Story of Romeo and Juliet'' on the 12th and 13th of the month at the IFA Verdure Theatre.

This creative residency will be crowned by the presentation of a show on Tuesday 18 July at 9 p.m. at Al Amal square.

For their part, three young companies from Agadir (Capoeira, Break Dance, and Graff'arts) led workshops at the Skate park on Tuesday 10 July and offered a show on Wednesday 11 at Al Amal square.

It should also be noted that the multidisciplinary workshops led by the invited companies involve the public, emerging artists, and young people who frequent the city's cultural complexes and community centres, thus creating a new dynamic and giving rise to fruitful artistic and cultural exchanges.

Finally, it should be remembered that since 2009, the Circus and Street Arts Meetings of Agadir, placed under the sign of exchange and creation, have already seen the parade of renowned companies and artists including Les Colporteurs, Colokolo, Les Grandes Personnes, Shems'y of the National Circus School of Sale, among others.
