46 million dirhams for the craft sector

The Fez-Meknes region has launched a pilot project worth 46 million dirhams to address the shortage of apprentices in the craft sector. This initiative aims to preserve ancestral know-how and ensure the transmission of these trades to new generations.
During the last ordinary general assembly of the Regional Chamber of Crafts, two partnership agreements were signed to revitalise training in craft trades, an essential sector both economically and culturally.
A challenge of transmission and modernisation
The President of the Regional Chamber of Crafts, Naji Fakhari, stressed that the scarcity of qualified labour represents a threat to the sustainability of many trades. "Support for training is essential for the preservation of our craft heritage and to prevent the disappearance of certain know-how," he declared.
