Collection of more than 18 tonnes of plastic bags

The competent services at the level of the Taourirt province proceeded, during the period from July 1 to 31, to the collection of 18 tonnes and 635 kg of plastic bags. According to data from the province, these plastic bags were collected mainly in the urban communes of Taourirt (7.652 tonnes), Laâyoune (5.171 tonnes), and Debdou (3.559 tonnes), while the rest was collected in several rural communes of the province. This operation, which was launched on June 7, is part of the national policy adopted regarding environmental protection and sustainable development. It aims to combat the use of plastic bags, given their dangerous impact on the environment.
