A total of 5,100 destitute families, including 4,800 in rural areas, have benefited from the “Ramadan 1437” operation in the Taourirt province.
This operation, which was recently launched by the governor of the province, Aziz Bouignane, benefited destitute families from the pachaliks of Taourirt (170), El Aïoun Sidi Mellouk (80), Debdou (50), and the caïdats of Ahwaz Al Ouyoune (800), Mestegmer (800), Ahlaf (800), Ahl Oued Za (400), Gaâda (593), Sidi Lahsen (593), Zoua (414), and Malka Al Ouidane (400).
The total amount of food supplies intended for the province amounts to 51 tonnes of flour, 20.4 tonnes of sugar, 25,500 litres of oil, and 1,275 kg of tea.
The “Ramadan 1437” operation, supervised by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, mobilizes a budget of 56 million dirhams and will benefit nearly 2.4 million people forming 473,900 families, including 403,000 families living in rural areas across the regions of the Kingdom.
Organized with the support of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairs, the food distribution operation, which is in its 17th edition, constitutes an important annual event aimed at providing aid and support to the most vulnerable social categories, notably widows, the elderly, and the disabled.
