This new youth facility, inaugurated by the Governor of Tan-Tan Province, Abdellah Chater, consists of a range of amenities including a sports hall, a multi-purpose hall, an exhibition hall, a reception area, a games room, a school support room, a computer room, a music room, and an equipment storage room.
The Regional Director of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (Youth Sector) in Tan-Tan, Brahim El Khalil Ailoul, emphasised on the occasion that the creation of this institution is part of the Ministry's strategy aimed at creating new-generation youth institutions across the country, rehabilitating and equipping existing institutions, updating their services, and making them cultural and artistic spaces par excellence.
He highlighted that the opening of this youth facility is a building block for guidance and monitoring, adding that the youth centre, as a space for social and democratic learning, provides young people with opportunities to meet and adapt within the group, as well as to open up to others and learn the values of tolerance and solidarity among segments of society.
Mr. Ailoul pointed out that the Ministry is currently working on generalising the "Youth Pass" programme, which enables young people to benefit from sports, cultural, and recreational services, by involving public institutions, local authorities, and the private sector in order to enable young people to benefit from the greatest number of advantages and services and to provide support for cultural and artistic projects in several fields such as music, singing, performing arts, theatre, poetry, and books.
The inauguration ceremony of the youth centre, built on a covered area of 683 square metres, was marked by artistic and performance displays, and the distribution of certificates of appreciation to visual artists who achieved high rankings in cultural events recently hosted in Rabat and Fez.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Tan-Tan Province prefecture, elected officials, local figures, and civil society components.
