This new station, whose inauguration took place in the presence of, among others, the Wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Governor of the Laâyoune province, Abdeslam Bekrate, the Governor of the Es-Semara province, Brahim Boutoumilate, and elected officials, is part of the urban upgrading programme of the city of Es-Semara, mobilising a budget estimated at 12.2 million dirhams (MDH).
The new bus station, which is located at the "Rbeib" urban hub, covers an area of 16,543 m², of which the built area is 1,063 m², while the exterior developments cover an area of 15,480 m².
This new station, the management of which is entrusted to the Es-Semara commune, is equipped in particular with five ticket counters, a waiting area, a car park, a police station, and a prayer room, as well as shops, cafés and sanitary blocks.
Subject to a multi-party agreement between the General Directorate of Local Authorities, the Agency for the Promotion and Economic and Social Development of the Southern Provinces, the Provincial Council and the Es-Semara commune, this road infrastructure will allow travellers and professionals to benefit from the best services in compliance with safety conditions.
Several travellers among the users of this station welcomed the inauguration of this new bus station equipped with the necessary amenities, praising the fluidity of movement within this platform and the availability of a large fleet of coaches.
For their part, road transport professionals were unanimous in stating that this new station will improve working conditions and the travel of citizens.
