The Marrakech-Safi region is taking a significant step in its economic development with the official inauguration, on January 29, of the Marrakech Industrial Park located in Tamansourt (Marrakech prefecture).
Spearheaded by the Marrakech-Safi regional council and implemented by the Regional Project Execution Agency, this structuring project aims to stimulate the regional economic dynamic and enhance the territory's attractiveness nationally and internationally, according to a statement from the Marrakech-Safi region, specifying that the launch event, scheduled at the Kenzi Rose Garden hotel in Marrakech, will bring together ministers, institutional representatives, and major economic players.
"This initiative has generated interest beyond the Kingdom's borders; accordingly, ambassadors, economic advisors from numerous embassies accredited to Morocco, and other diplomatic representatives have responded to the invitation," the same source added.
Fully aligned with the vision of the new development model and the objectives of sectoral and territorial strategies, the Industrial Park is one of the flagship projects of the Regional Territorial Planning Scheme (SRAT) and the Regional Development Plan (PDR) 2022-2027, the statement noted, indicating that this project aims to equip the region with modern infrastructure and facilities, offering an attractive and conducive environment for the establishment of national and international companies, thereby contributing to the creation of value and sustainable jobs.
It was emphasized that the Marrakech Industrial Park is positioned as a state-of-the-art infrastructure, designed to meet the needs of investors and companies seeking a modern and strategic environment, reports MAP.
"With a total cost of 215 million dirhams, this park offers modular plots ranging from 1,000 m² to 10,000 m², allowing for the accommodation of various types of industrial projects. As part of a sustainable development approach, the Park promotes principles such as innovation, responsible practices, and the reduction of environmental impact," the statement detailed.
This inauguration marks a key step in making the Marrakech-Safi region a major industrial hub, and highlights the numerous investment opportunities offered by the region as well as local initiatives for innovation and business support.
"Companies wishing to seize this opportunity will soon be able to express their interest and bring their projects to fruition," the statement concluded.
