When nature unleashes: Two dead in Safi and Taza

A young girl is reported missing following the collapse, on Tuesday evening, of a raised wall by the sea in Safi, while a young man was saved from the waters by elements of the Civil Protection.

This collapse occurred while the two victims were perched on the wall, located near the Portuguese monument Qsar Al Bahr. Their fall into the waters of a rough sea followed, according to a security source.

The elements of the Civil Protection, aided by spotlights, tried to retrieve the young girl's body, but did not succeed due to bad weather and the difficulties of searching in this rocky area, the same source adds.

Furthermore, a young woman was swept away on Tuesday by the muddy floods of the Oued Lahdar, whose courses were swollen by the torrential rains that continue to fall on the Taza region, it was learned from provincial authorities.

The victim (30 years old), from the rural commune of Taifa (Taineste circle), was swept away by the floods while trying to cross the Oued Lahdar, it was specified from the same source, adding that the victim's body was evacuated to the morgue of the Ibn Baja hospital in Taza.
