Moussem of Moulay Abdellah Amghar

Festival, moussem, parties and shows

The Moussem of Moulay Abdellah Amghar is a great popular festive gathering in Morocco, where celebrations and prayers have long coexisted in a ritual organised in tribute to and in memory of the Sufi saint of the Doukkala, Abdallah Abou Lmahasin Mohammed Amghar (around the year 1060), founder of the Taifa Senhajia, during the reign of the Almoravid dynasty: the first example of a Sufi order in the Maghreb.
The Moussem is celebrated every year in the month of August; it is an event of a religious, cultural, and economic nature.
