As part of its partnership with the Operation Smile Morocco association, the Moroccan National Motorways Company (ADM) organised, on December 20th and 21st, a medical convoy dedicated to dental and oral health for the pupils of the "Melloussa School Group" in the province of Fès-Anjra, adjacent to the motorway.
According to a joint statement, the initiative, organised for the second consecutive year under the honorary presidency of HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, benefited 366 children and included awareness campaigns, medical examinations, and specialised treatments, resulting in 1,574 medical interventions.
The statement, received by Hespress, confirmed that "the convoy was not limited to the medical aspect only, but also included educational and recreational activities for the children, featuring artistic performances and educational games that brought joy and fun," noting that "these activities aim to enhance children's awareness of the importance of oral and dental health in a positive environment that combines education and entertainment."
The source mentioned that this convoy is part of the "J/Generation of Hope" programme, launched by the Moroccan National Motorways Company in 2008. It noted that "the programme focuses on rehabilitating the infrastructure of educational institutions adjacent to the motorway, organising awareness workshops on various topics such as road safety and sustainable development, as well as medical convoys to improve school health in cooperation with specialists in the field."
On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Operation Smile Morocco concluded 2024 by organising this medical convoy in partnership with the National Motorways Company. This joint initiative reflects the commitment of both the National Motorways Company and Operation Smile to making a positive difference in the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly those suffering from congenital deformities such as cleft lip and palate.
