The inhabitants of certain districts in the rural commune of Imi N’tlit have been plagued by thirst for a few weeks following the shortage of rain that is hitting their region during this year of drought.
Travelling on donkey-back from one point to another in search of drinking water, the citizens do not hide their fear of a difficult summer in their Douars, which only use wells dug thanks to the efforts and initiatives of the inhabitants.
An alarming observation that does not reflect the budgets spent and programmed by the communal council since 1992. The opposition councillors who rejected the 2011 administrative account mention water infrastructure projects in case of drought, but they have never been realised since 1999.
