The commemoration of Independence Day was punctuated, at the level of the Khémisset province, by the inauguration of two "Dar Taliba" (Student House) establishments. The first was built in the rural commune of El Guanzra and was financed by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) for a total cost of 2.97 million dirhams. The establishment covers an area of 412 m² and includes, notably, a canteen, a dormitory, a kitchen, a study room, and changing rooms. As for the second establishment, this is located at the level of the Aït Mimoun commune. The project required an investment of 3.5 million dirhams, also financed by the INDH. This second "Dar Taliba" will offer its residents academic support, socio-cultural, and recreational activities.
"These establishments set themselves the mission of providing the necessary support to underprivileged individuals, with a view to allowing them to pursue their studies in an appropriate environment," indicates Mehdi Daki, head of the Social Action Division. He adds: "This initiative aims, in the first place, to fight against school dropouts among girls and develop, by ricochet, their schooling rate, knowing perfectly well that the issue of early school leaving is a major problem faced by the inhabitants of rural areas".
