The inhabitants of Douar Brahma in Mohammedia beaten by law enforcement
It was almost noon on Tuesday when the Gendarmerie and Auxiliary Forces intervened with violence against the inhabitants of Douar Brahma 1 (rural commune of Chellalat in Mohammedia). These inhabitants have been demanding for years the improvement of their living conditions and, in particular, asking to benefit from decent housing. The events were triggered when the inhabitants obtained water illegally to meet their needs, but the governor of the Mohammedia prefecture, Fouzia Imensar, instead of resolving this problem calmly and through dialogue, ordered the intervention of law enforcement. 11 people, including 5 women, were arrested during this heavy-handed intervention, according to USFP MP Mehdi Mezouari.
