The Douars of Asrir and Taghmart surrounded by water
The Douars of Asrir and Taghmart (East of Guelmim) are surrounded by the floods of the Oued Sayad and Oued Ouargnoun caused by the rainfall that the Guelmim province experienced on Thursday morning, indicated the Wilaya of the Guelmim-Smara region. The Wilaya added, in a press release, that a commission from the Ministry Delegate in charge of Water had arrived in the region during the day to assess the situation and evaluate needs in the short and medium term. This commission, which has begun its work, is currently on site in order to draw up a provisional assessment and collect data on Oued Sayad in order to accelerate the construction of the Ait Hmad dam, rural commune of Fask (about 20 km east of Guelmim) and Oued Tamsourt, commune of Timoulay (about 50 km north-east of Guelmim).
