About Amizmiz
Amizmiz is a Moroccan rural commune in the Al Haouz province, in the Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz region.
It has a total population of 13,711 inhabitants (2004).
Amizmiz (from the Berber Amz-miz, in Arabic: أمزميز) is a small town of 13,000 inhabitants in Morocco, located 55 kilometres south of Marrakech. It is situated at the foot of the High Atlas, a mountain range.
The village is separated into two parts by a wadi bearing the same name. The main town is called Amizmiz-Amadel and is located on the right bank of the wadi, while the other town, named Amizmiz-Regraga, is situated on the heights on the left bank of the wadi.
The population consists mainly of Berbers who speak the Chleuh dialect.
The Souk, which brings together people from the surrounding Berber villages, takes place on Tuesdays.
