Casablanca tramway traffic was interrupted, on Wednesday, between the Hay Mohammedi and United Nations stations following a suicide attempt on the tramway platform, we learned from Casa Tram.

"For security reasons and following a suicide attempt on the Tramway platform, traffic was interrupted between the Hay Mohammedi and United Nations station and is heavily disrupted on the rest of the line", specified the same source.

The incident, which occurred at 5:26 PM, led to disruptions until the situation was restored, scheduled for the same day, around 9 PM.

The driver of the train performed emergency braking to avoid hitting the man and this braking led to a failure of the train's braking system, immobilising it on the track and preventing other trains from accessing the section, explained the same source.

No details are currently available on the man's age or the causes that led him to this suicide attempt.
