The flight departing from the Canadian metropolis took off from Toronto International Airport on Sunday evening carrying 289 passengers, while the first flight departing from Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca recorded 204 travelers.
According to RAM, this new connection, which is part of the airline's commitments made as part of the Development Plan signed with the government in July 2023, will play a major role in promoting tourism in Morocco and will reinforce economic cooperation between the Kingdom and Canada.
Casablanca-Toronto flights are operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircrafts three times per week, on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday, with a departure from Toronto scheduled at 9:25 p.m., RAM regional representative in Canada, Nour-Eddine Ezzairi, told MAP, stressing that the launch of this direct flight "marks a historic moment" in the relations between the two countries.
Flights analysis shows a diversification of the target segments, namely the Moroccan community, the African community, particularly that of English-speaking Africa (Nigeria and Ghana) and the Arab community (Cairo and the Middle East), he noted, adding that this inaugural flight confirms the importance of the Casablanca hub as an essential platform for international connection.
He also highlighted the "tourism" segment, which is beginning to develop through partnerships with stakeholders in the Canadian province of Ontario, adding that several contracts have been concluded in this regard to promote the Morocco destination.
The new connection, which opens up new perspectives for the Kingdom of Morocco and Canada, is part of the vision aimed at giving the company this new global and universal dimension, Mr. Ezzairi noted.
The new Casablanca-Toronto flight also strengthens Royal Air Maroc's "Americas" network, which currently operates direct flights connecting its Casablanca hub to New York, Washington, Miami and São Paulo.
